~*~*~*~

Earlier this week I filled out a survey from a hotel. One of their questions was, "how many night have you spent in a hotel this year?" I pulled out my calendar and was stunned with my count.

We've spent at least 45 nights in a hotel in the last 12 months. Le gasp.

That add up to a lot of road trips!!

So I opened the file that I dump pictures from my phone into and found a record of our travels.

Here's a sample...

Fonzie likes"driving" when Dad's not.

Back roads...

and big roads.

Quiet roads...

and curvy roads.

But the best road of all...

is the road home.

Road trips are a way of life for us, and although I like home best, I'm enjoying this season of our lives.

    1. I hear ya about the hotels! Due to the monkeys (and now member perks) we stick to one hotel brand, but there's still a LOT of variance in just that line. It can be like a lottery sometimes. Will the heating/AC unit work well? Will the bed slope toward the middle? And there's NO predicting the neighbors. *eye roll*

But the actual travel part I really enjoy. =]

  3. I've been on only 1 road trip, but it was fun! Staying at a hotel is a treat for me and I always feel like royalty, even if it's a low cost room.
I knew your last photo was going to be the road home- and it fit well. Trips are great but as cliche as it is, there really is no place like home!

    1. I totally understand feeling like royalty at a hotel, Barb. Before this season in our lives, that's how it was for me too, but that's faded now that I see it as a second home. LoL. That specialness is so nice!!

Yes, it is cliche, but dog-gone-it, cliches are cliches because there's so much TRUTH in them. There is no place like home. And I'm so thankful for my home. =]

    1. LoL, Shelley. I'm told that Fonzie used to drive a golf cart at the fairs!! Every morning he and Harold would go for a drive and Fonzie drove, which is probably why he loves the van steering wheel. =]

  5. Road trips are the best! Especially on the back of a motorcycle. Might have to get a monkey to join me!

It'd be a blast to meet you somewhere for even a mini road trip!!! =]

  7. Beautiful pictures. Love the pic of your road home. And the one of New Mexico made me homesick! (We won't talk about the kind of sick the curvy road made me - just pass me the Dramamine!) Thanks for sharing your life with us.
