Now, for this week's installment of our a 2 z 4 u & me meme,
the letter X.
I tend to laugh when I look through my parent's pictures. Regardless of the year, almost every-other picture is of a flower. Really. Ask my sister. So this post is for you, Mom and Dad. All flowers...
Since the letter X is such a bug-a-boo, but NOT impossible, I have a little quiz for you.
Which of these flowers has the latin name of Xeliconia?
Leave your guesses in the comments and I'll draw a winner from the correct responses and send a picture of this year's theme verse, which you can see at the top of the sidebar. =)
I do believe that I'm now every bit as bad as my parents because if I see a pretty flower and have my camera (or my kids have theirs) I'm right there, getting a picture of it. Okay, so it's more than one thanx to my digital camera.
Getting pix of flowers is something I've come to very much enjoy, even though I know nothing about photography. LoL
Now, if you're stumped by which pix is xeliconia then here's a question for you...
If you were one of these flowers, which would you be?
Don't forget to leave that answer and your guess in the comments and I'll pick a winner from the correct guesses and announce it next Tuesday. =)
If you're joining us for the a 2 z 4 u & me meme by posting on your blog this week about the letter X, be sure to add your name and the link to that particular post in the linky gadget here.
I have no idea which one is the...whatever it was that started with an x, lol. But your photos are lovely--I enjoyed them!
ReplyDelete(And here I am early posting and no Linky. Oh, well! :-))
I'm gonna guess that the X one is the purple, 5-petaled with the fly inside.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the one just below it. The one with all the little flowers spreading out around it. Jack of all trades, master of none. It also speaks to my ADD side.
Oops, did I miss the linky? I didn't see where to log in my blogsite. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI would guess the white flowers above the Dandelion puff because the name sounds like it has "cone in it and the flowers have a cone shape to them.
ReplyDeleteI love to shoot pics of flowers too! Your photos are lovely!
So pretty! Pansies are one of my favorites because they seem to almost have faces. I love how they are often purples with contrasting colors, too.
ReplyDeleteNo linky? Well, my X post is http://sparrowsflight10.blogspot.com/2011/10/2-z-xacwihlas-twining.html
eeks. Sorry guys. I was majorly distracted by a movie night and working on design stuff. The Linky is there now.
ReplyDeleteI don't know which flower is the right one for the X name, but I'll guess the purpl'ish one with lots of flowers.
ReplyDeleteI would be the dandelion. Hiding in plain sight. :)
Ginger
I don't know, but I'm wondering why I didn't think of looking in a flower or even herb guide or bird guide for X names!

I would do much better if these were flowers from a vegetable garden... those I'm familiar with. With that said, I'll go with the Dandelion because of the time we spend together in my garden.
ReplyDeleteI tried to cheat and google it, but I didn't find it on the web! This is tough b/c I fancy myself a gardener. I'm going to guess the second flower down, the orange one. Your pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYup...i can attest to that fact. They do love flowers! And I love the flowers in this post..my favorite is your last one...the fluffy dandelion. So...how many words did you get done today? I'm cheering you on. Can you hear me?
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to guess, but I am going to comment and say PRETTY! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, whoever added my link to Linky. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the flower pix, Patty! I'm an avid flower photographer too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Life Lessons! It's all too easy to shift back into self-mode. Love the reminder given in Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Have a wonderful week! Hugs!
Beautiful flowers--I don't have a clue which one is that word that starts with an X!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!
Those are gorgeous pictures, especially in light of the snow and cold outside! I have no idea which one is Xeliconia, but I think I would like to be a Pansy, because they look happy.
ReplyDeleteLove your flower pictures. And now I have written my late X post and I've read all the others and I've now procrastinated away my day off with not many Nano words to show for it. Hmmm... <3
