Given Words

What an incredible week this has been! It's been busy and I now have even more on my plate to do, but God has showered blessings on me!

I asked some Christians authors for blog interviews and book giveaways and I was showered with responses. So many, in fact, that I was overwhelmed and felt like I was in a storm. But it was a shower of blessing and an opportunity for God to work. I get to host a Back 2 School Book Bonanza and that's a blessing. Why? Because is today's world every Christian book offers a ray of hope to people—the light of God. That's worth being part of! It's a blessing to be involved with spreading the hope of God!

That wasn't the only blessing this week!

Once again I was struggling with an article—for Adding Zest this time—and God gave me words. What a blessing that was to me to see the words fill a page that I had already put away blank two or three other times.

In my daily Bible reading I'm in Jeremiah, and as I began the book there were words that reached out hugged me.

Then I said, “Alas, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, because I am a youth.”

But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, 'I am a youth,' because everywhere I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares the Lord.

Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words is your mouth. See, I have appointed you this day...” ~Jeremiah 1:6-10

So many times I've said to God, “But I'm just me! I don't know what to say and I don't have any words!”

And God's word to me is “Don't be afraid for I'm with you.”

But not just that! He's given me the words when I needed them. My words are worthless. God's words are wonderful.

What words has God put in your mouth? Are you keeping your appointment and doing what God has given you to do?

  2. Wonderful verses...those have reached up from the pages of Scripture and grabbed me before, too.
I can also identify with the staring at a blank page. I have to devos to put up this week. One's done, one is just a blank.
    Blessings.
